Gardening and my Little Black Currant Bush

Today has been very productive. I was up early as usual. Made lunches for Shane and Rochelle. Peanut butter sandwiches, mixed greens with grape tomatoes, pecans, feta and greek dressing. A homemade grape jello for Shane and can't remember what else for Rochelle.

Afterwards, I ironed Rochelle's work pants. Got a danino yogurt drink ready for BooBoo(Annika:) to take with her to daycare and saw everyone off. Shane is currently on placement in the Human Resources department with the city until the first week of May. Rochelle works for Shopper's Drugmart as a pharmacy assistant in Guelph and Cambridge and Annika attends Lillian's Daycare down the street at the corner of Willow and Westwood.

I wrote in the blog for a bit and then headed off to Janette's to gather garden supplies. I had wanted to purchase some but hers were a great price. I got six trays and 60 4 pack planters. All for 8$. I gave her 10$ as I knew that she was giving me seeds and she also gave me a wonderful little black currant bush. I am so excited about that. She even gave me the pot and some stones. I then headed off to TSC and picked up 6 bags of black earth for 1.79$ a bag. So a great find for everything. We I got home, I added soil to my little bush right away. Now we have to find a name for it.

This picture is of a cool car that I saw across Janette's. Vintage Beetle - hard to tell but the colour is magenta.
Here is Janette, all ready for our gardening endeavours.
Here is some of her flower beds in the front of the house.

I also called Shane to see if he knew if they were going to hire him on. He said they told him there was nothing at the moment..... :(
But there is another job that he is going to apply for. I hope he gets it and if he does, I hope he will be able to to do it. It starts at 21$ an hour so that's nothing to sneeze at.

Well, I better get back to finishing the dishes and mopping before I pick up Annika.
